What we do

OPC’s functions 

Operational information

Operational information is information held by OPC to assist OPC to perform or exercise OPC’s functions or powers in making decisions or recommendations affecting members of the public (or any particular person or entity, or class of persons or entities). OPC does not administer any legislation or schemes affecting members of the public and holds no operational information covered by subsection 8A(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 1982.

Routinely requested information

The FOI disclosure log contains information to which OPC has routinely given access in response to FOI requests.

Consultation arrangements

OPC drafts legislation on instruction from the Commonwealth agency responsible for the administration of the legislation. Any public consultation regarding draft legislation would be carried out by the instructing agency.

The Administrative Arrangements Orders list Commonwealth agencies and the legislation for which they are responsible. They are available from the Federal Register of Legislation website.
